Spiral binding Ireland

An increasing number of our customers at DigitalPrintingIreland.ie are choosing spiral binding for their printed documents. We offer different types of binding for your publication and each has its own particular advantages. Spiral binding, also called wiro binding or sometimes coil binding has some very unique properties. So what is spiral binding and when should you consider using it for your document?

How does spiral binding work?

Spiral bound documents are put together by stacking the pages into a square block then punching holes close to the rear edge. A black wire is then fed through the holes to bind the pages together.

What are the advantages of spiral binding?

Spiral binding is great for documents that need to open completely flat. Not only do spiral bound books open and lie flat, but they can also be folded back around. They’re extremely popular for when the reader needs their hands-free to work or to demonstrate a product or task. That’s why spiral binding is often used for publications such as reference books, cookery books, manuals, reports or presentation documents. You can have between four and 180 leaves printed on both sides. That gives you up to 360 printed pages.

Spiral bound sizes?

We offer five-page sizes starting at 1/3 A4 and going right up to A3 – perfect for your presentation or portfolio document. You can have your book in landscape or portrait format, or choose our 210mm square size.

What sort of paper suits spiral binding?

Our full range of paper types, weights and styles can be used in your spiral bound book. We offer gloss, silk and premium uncoated paper in a wide variety of weights. There are recycled options too and if you need something extra special, have a look at our stunning luxury paper range. You might also choose matt or gloss lamination and many customers use clear acetates on the front and back of their documents.

Of course, when you choose DigitalPrintingIreland.ie you know that your spiral bound document will be printed using our HP Indigo digital presses to give the best digital colour and image reproduction around, so your document will have a look and feel of the very highest quality.
